Andrew J. Kline
Attorney at Law, Principal
akline@theveritaslawfirm.com
Andrew J. Kline has been representing business and real estate clients in the Washington, DC area for more than 30 years. He has served as legislative advisor to the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (“RAMW”) for more than 15 years and is often called to testify, review legal issues, and advocate on behalf of hospitality establishments and other businesses. On behalf of both RAMW and private clients, he has an excellent track record lobbying the Council of the District of Columbia in effectuating favorable legislative changes and in minimizing the impact on his clients of laws passed by the Council.
Mr. Kline has represented clients in hundreds of business transactions over the years. In addition to the typical legal work involved in negotiating and drafting documents and facilitating the settlement of transactions, Mr. Kline frequently negotiates between the businesses he represents and community members living near them. Mr. Kline appears regularly before the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board on his clients’ behalf.
Mr. Kline also has extensive experience in commercial landlord and tenant law. He has negotiated retail leases for all manner of uses for both landlords and tenants with premises ranging from 500 to 50,000 square feet. Mr. Kline’s substantial experience litigating landlord/tenant issues gives him an added edge in lease negotiations, as “courtroom” involvement helps him advise clients concerning lease language which might be someday subject to legal challenge.
He attended George Washington University and is a 1981 graduate of the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary.
